The Bubble Lamp was originally created in 1947, George Nelson became enthused by spheres and hanging spherical objects.

Motivated by a $125 price tag which he didn’t want to pay, he set out to make his own.

He murmured, after I made it, “it didn’t cost $125” (1947 dollars mind you).

Made of a combination of fabric and metal, George Nelson’s Bubble Lamp is a great way to add a midcentury flavor to your home.
